Murray is an FBI agent, working under Agent Walker, at the time of The Fall of New York. He accompanies the anti-MogPro task force (also consisting of Walker, John, Nine, and Sam) to New York in an attempt to stop the invasion by assassinating Bud Sanderson and stopping the welcome of the Mogadorians.
During a brief gunfight with the Mogadorian in Sanderson's hotel, Murray is shot in the throat and healed by John. This is filmed and later posted on the internet by Sarah Hart as part of the anti-Mogadorian propaganda posted by 'They Walk Among Us'.
Murray survives the battle with Setrákus Ra, at the United Nations, and the fall of the city and makes it to the safe-zone military encampment in Brooklyn. He accompanies John to Liberty Island to meet Five and is later faced with The Hunter.
